Indutex is rewarded as a historical business in Corbetta

Saturday, 10 October 2020, in the multi-purpose hall of the City of Corbetta, Maria Gabriella Grittini, co-founder of Indutex, received the award reserved by the Municipality for historical businesses.

A great emotion, an acknowledgement of a long professional career and an entrepreneurial adventure that began in 1977, when Mario Carlo Rossin produced the first disposable chemical protection suits in non-woven fabric . With Maria Gabriella Grittini, what had started out as a small laboratory grew into a structured company in the new site in via San Francesco, which today provides work for approximately sixty people.

Over the years, Indutex has developed a diversified range of personal protective clothes, having recognised, well before the recent development, the need for full safety in workplaces at risk, such as hospitals, manufacturing plants, construction sites. Painstaking research and development, which, over time, has enabled Indutex to create more and more advanced products designed to ensure 360-degree protection, has taken place alongside large-scale production activities in Romania and Tunisia.

The recognition that Indutex received today from the Municipality rewards the commitment of the entire company. The award was collected by Indutex co-founder Maria Gabriella Grittini; CEO Paolo Maria Rossin could not attend for unavoidable reasons.

“It was exciting to go on stage and receive the award from Mayor Marco Ballarini on behalf of our city – says Grittini – at that moment, my mind went back to those first difficult years, when the idea of a clothing company seemed like a dream, whereas today it is a tangible reality, thanks to the endeavours of the entire great Indutex family. Then my thoughts went to the men and women who every day come to the company to build, together with us, a little piece of the history of this enterprise. My gratitude goes to them, to the city administration and to the entire city”.

A glance at the world, but the heart beats strong in Corbetta. Now headed by Paolo Maria Rossin, son of Gabriella and Mario, Indutex has solid ties to the territory, of which it is proud to be a great little excellence. The company, in fact, has always been the official sponsor of many associations and sports clubs, and actively supports the local community.

During the lockdown, work at the plants never stopped: on the contrary, it went on at full capacity to meet the requirements of the most important hospitals engaged in the battle against Covid. A health challenge, but also a social one: aware of the difficulties that many families were confronted with, Rossin donated 10,000 euros to the City of Corbetta.

“Corbetta is my city, it is the home of Indutex and I believe it is important, whenever possible, to support the projects in favour of the community – explains the CEO, Paolo Maria Rossin – we worked hard during the lockdown, my employees did not stop a single day to meet the needs of the healthcare world. But I am aware that many families did not have same opportunity and I have decided to help the Municipality with a donation designed to address their needs”.

Not only that: Indutex also sponsored the new DAE (automated external defibrillator) installed outside the municipal pharmacy in Via della Libertà 2.

“Every day we make protective clothes so that every worker can move safely in environments at risk – points out Rossin – but there are unpredictable events, which cannot be prevented. This is the reason why we have wholeheartedly donated a defibrillator: to promote a rapid intervention the moment it is needed. Protecting is our mission”.
