Type 1-a
with a breathable air supply, independent of the ambient atmosphere (e.g. a self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatus), worn inside the suit
Type 1-b
with a breathable air supply, independent of the ambient atmosphere (e.g. a self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatus), worn outside the suit.
Type 1-c
with a breathable air supply assuring positive pressure (e.g. airlines)
“NON GAS-TIGHT” CHEMICAL PROTECTIVE SUIT”

Type 2
with a breathable air supply assuring positive pressure (e.g. airlines).
REQUIREMENTS TABLE
LEAK-TIGHTNESS TEST
test according to EN 464 applicable to Types 1a, 1b and 1c Pressure drops must not exceed 300 Pa (3 mbar) in 6 min.
INWARD LEAK TIGHTNESS
test according to Appendix A EN 943-1 applicable to Types 1b (in addition to EN 464 where the face mask is not permanently fixed to the suit), 1c and 2
